Refund Policy

At Papayyya, we want you to be satisfied with our Service. This Refund Policy explains our refund process for subscription fees and marketplace transactions. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

By using our Service and making payments, you agree to this Refund Policy. If you have any questions, please contact our support team.

1. Free Trial Period

All paid subscription plans (Pro and Business) come with a 14-day free trial. During this trial period:

  • You can explore all features of your chosen plan
  • No charges will be made to your payment method
  • You can cancel anytime during the trial without any charges
  • If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin

Tip: Set a reminder before your trial ends if you want to evaluate the service before committing to a paid subscription.

2. Subscription Refunds

2.1 Refund Eligibility

You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • You request a refund within 30 days of your initial subscription purchase
  • You have not used the Service extensively (we reserve the right to assess usage)
  • The refund is not for a renewal payment (see section 2.3)
  • You have not violated our Terms of Service

2.2 Refund Process

To request a subscription refund:

  1. Contact our support team at refunds@papayyya.com or through your account settings
  2. Provide your account email and subscription details
  3. Explain the reason for your refund request
  4. Our team will review your request within 5-7 business days
  5. If approved, the refund will be processed to your original payment method

2.3 Renewal Payments

Renewal payments are generally non-refundable. If you wish to avoid being charged for a renewal, you must cancel your subscription before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, and you will continue to have access until the end of your current billing period.

2.4 Partial Refunds

In exceptional circumstances, we may offer partial refunds for unused portions of your subscription. This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and is not guaranteed.

2.5 Annual Subscriptions

For annual subscriptions, refund requests must be made within 30 days of the initial purchase. After 30 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable, but you can cancel to prevent renewal.

3. Marketplace Transaction Refunds

Marketplace transactions (outsourced tasks) are handled separately from subscriptions. Refunds for marketplace transactions are subject to different terms:

3.1 Escrow Protection

All marketplace payments are held in escrow until the task is completed and approved. This protects both you and the service provider.

3.2 Refund Eligibility for Tasks

You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • The service provider fails to deliver the work as agreed
  • The delivered work does not meet the agreed specifications
  • The service provider cancels the task before completion
  • You cancel the task before work has begun (subject to cancellation fees)
  • There is a dispute that is resolved in your favor

3.3 Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with delivered work, you can open a dispute through our platform. Our team will review the case and may:

  • Request revisions from the service provider
  • Issue a full or partial refund
  • Release payment to the service provider if work meets requirements

Dispute resolution typically takes 5-10 business days, depending on the complexity of the case.

3.4 Cancellation Fees

If you cancel a task after work has begun, you may be charged a cancellation fee based on the work completed. The remaining amount will be refunded to you.

3.5 Completed Tasks

Once a task is marked as completed and approved by you, the payment is released to the service provider and is generally non-refundable, except in cases of fraud or violation of our Terms of Service.

4. Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally non-refundable:

  • Subscription renewal payments (unless requested within 30 days of renewal)
  • Marketplace transactions that have been completed and approved
  • Platform fees and commissions (these are part of the service cost)
  • Payments for services that have been fully delivered and accepted
  • Subscriptions that have been active for more than 30 days
  • Any fees associated with chargebacks or payment processing

5. Refund Processing

5.1 Processing Time

Once your refund is approved:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-10 business days to appear in your account
  • PayPal: 3-5 business days
  • Bank Transfers: 7-14 business days
  • Other Payment Methods: Processing time varies by provider

Refunds are processed to the original payment method used for the purchase.

5.2 Refund Method

Refunds will be issued to the same payment method you used for the original transaction. If that payment method is no longer available, we will work with you to find an alternative refund method.

5.3 Currency

Refunds will be issued in the same currency as the original payment. Exchange rates at the time of refund may differ from the original transaction, and any difference is not refundable.

6. Chargebacks

If you file a chargeback with your bank or credit card company instead of contacting us first, we may:

  • Dispute the chargeback with evidence of service delivery
  • Suspend or terminate your account pending resolution
  • Charge a chargeback fee if the chargeback is found to be invalid

We strongly encourage you to contact us first to resolve any issues. We are committed to working with you to find a satisfactory solution.

7. Special Circumstances

7.1 Service Interruptions

If our Service experiences extended downtime or significant issues that prevent you from using the Service, we may offer refunds or service credits on a case-by-case basis.

7.2 Billing Errors

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact us immediately. We will investigate and, if confirmed, issue a full refund for the incorrect charge.

7.3 Duplicate Charges

If you notice duplicate charges on your account, contact us immediately. We will investigate and refund any duplicate charges.

8. How to Request a Refund

8.1 For Subscriptions

To request a subscription refund:

  1. Log in to your Papayyya account
  2. Go to Account Settings → Subscription
  3. Click "Request Refund" and provide the reason
  4. Or email us at refunds@papayyya.com with your account email and reason

8.2 For Marketplace Transactions

To request a refund for a marketplace transaction:

  1. Go to the task details page
  2. Click "Open Dispute" or "Request Refund"
  3. Provide details about why you're requesting a refund
  4. Our team will review and respond within 5-7 business days

Important: Please include as much detail as possible in your refund request to help us process it quickly. Include transaction IDs, dates, and any relevant screenshots or documentation.

9. When Refunds May Be Denied

We may deny a refund request if:

  • The refund request is made after the eligible period (30 days for subscriptions)
  • You have extensively used the Service and received value from it
  • The request is for a renewal payment
  • You have violated our Terms of Service
  • The work or service has been fully delivered and accepted
  • There is evidence of fraud or abuse
  • The request is for a non-refundable item (see section 4)

If your refund request is denied, we will provide an explanation. You may appeal the decision by providing additional information or documentation.
